Nicholas McAfee is an award winning nature & cultural photographer based in Austin, Texas. Nicholas’ focus is on connecting people to fleeting moments from the natural and man-made world. He strives to preserve a record for the future while utilizing these connections to inspire conservation and preservation today.

Following a lifelong passion for photographing beautiful things and uncovering unique objects, Nicholas attended Princeton University where he studied Art and Archaeology. Alongside honing new skillsets such as artifact photography in both the field and museums, the experience greatly shaped his perspective on the stories that could be told and the immense amounts of loss occurring in the natural world and our own cultural heritages.

Nicholas travels around the world documenting beauty in the face of peril, exploring and recording so that others may too be inspired by the world around us. As the pandemic rages and restrictions abound, he is primarily focusing on projects within the great state of Texas and the conterminous United States.
